Hermann Hesse Kolleg
The Hermann-Hesse-Kolleg is a private, internationally recognized school for German as a foreign language and also a certified examination center. With the foundation of the college in 1993, the perfect place to learn German as a foreign language was created in Horb.
The college has maintained close partnerships with numerous companies and institutions in the region for years. In addition, there are cooperation projects with domestic and foreign educational institutions, foundations and government bodies, such as the German Academic Exchange Service in Bonn, the University of Tübingen, the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences as well as the IB University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, California State University, Kansai Gaidai University in Japan, the Baden-Württemberg Foundation or the TestDaF Institute in Bochum.
As an excellent institution, the Hermann-Hesse-Kolleg completes the broad cross-section of educational institutions in Horb and is an enrichment for the city with its language students.
Location of the school
Horb am Neckar, with a total of 26,000 inhabitants, is a beautiful, quiet town near the world-famous Black Forest. You can enjoy the peace, the healthy air and the nature. “Horb is a perfect place to learn,” our students often say.
The school is located in a 500-year-old medieval building, the “Steinhaus” in the center of Horb. It is only a short walk from the train station and there are many stores, cafés, and restaurants nearby. Classes are held in the unique old rooms of the building. Our cultural excursions show the surrounding area.
Horb is a very good starting point for leisure activities. Due to the favorable geographical location, you can reach France, Switzerland, or Austria in a very short time.
